FusionCharge: System Architecture and Logic

FusionCharge is not a typical DC charging station. It's a high-power charging infrastructure built on a proprietary DC bus architecture: a central power unit (DS720) supplies up to 12 satellite charging stations (DT500/DT600 Dispensers), without each station needing its own conversion electronics. The result: reduced infrastructure costs, power dynamically distributed according to the actual load, and native compatibility with DC storage (DS720-720LEUA5 series) and PV installations (SUN2000 Smart PV Controller).

The power unit incorporates 120 kW modules AC/DC and 60 kW liquid-cooled DC/DC chargers, with a DC bus shared between all charging points on the site. This architecture eliminates the need to resize the grid connection to achieve high charging power when a DC ESS is coupled to the system.

What is the difference between DS720-720LEUA4 and DS720-720LEUA5?
The LEUA5 variant incorporates a native DC bus interface compatible with DC energy storage (ESS DC FusionCharge), enabling peak shaving and tariff arbitrage without modifying the grid connection. The LEUA4 is the standard power unit without an ESS DC interface.

How many terminals can be connected to a DS720 power unit?
Up to 12 charging points in maximum configuration (720 kW). Power is dynamically distributed between active charging points — if 4 vehicles are connected to 12, each can receive up to 180 kW.

Are the DT500/DT600 charging stations compatible with all EVs on the market?
Yes — CCS2 connector (European standard), compliant with ISO15118-2 (Plug & Charge) and DIN 70121. Compatible with the entire fleet of EVs sold in Europe.

Is the meter certified for energy billing in France?
Yes. The DT500 and DT600 dispensers are equipped with MID/LNE certified meters, in accordance with the IRVE regulations applicable in France for billing based on energy delivered.

Does FusionCharge require a reinforced grid connection to reach 720 kW?
Not necessarily. With the LEUA5 variant coupled to an ESS DC Huawei The power unit can skim consumption peaks, allowing up to 720 kW of load capacity to be deployed with a network connection sized for a lower subscribed power.
