How a Victron converter/charger works
An inverter/charger combines two main functions in a single device. The inverter function converts the direct current (DC) from the batteries into alternating current (AC) usable by electrical equipment. The charger function recharges the batteries from an external source such as the electrical grid or a generator. This bidirectional energy management optimizes the use of energy storage in a photovoltaic system.
Victron inverter/chargers are also capable of managing energy priorities between solar production, storage and grid.
